The issue of the need for time control spent by a child at the screen of a smartphone, tablet and other electronic devices is so serious that it is raised at the government level. The US Department of Health officially recommended that parents monitor their child, allowing a preschooler to use gadgets no more than 40 minutes a day, and a teenager no more than 2 hours. In Taiwan, China and South Korea, the situation is more serious: adults who are not able to limit the screen time of children are subject to a fine! However, the problem still exists. Elizabeth Bean, BSN, RN, of the C4 patient care unit at Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital, was recently honored with a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award recognizes her dedication to providing compassionate, skilled care that makes a difference in the lives of patients and their families. A Cherry Hill resident, Bean was praised by the mother of a patient with disabilities. “We encountered an ‘angel nurse,’” the mother wrote. “Liz welcomed us with a broad smile and consistently supported us throughout our stay.” Part of an international program, DAISY honorees are nominated by patients, family members, and colleagues. They are chosen by Jefferson’s clinical recognition committee. The nonprofit DAISY Foundation was established in memory of J. At 9:31 p.m., a silver 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA250 struck multiple pedestrians at 1400 Spring Garden Street before being stopped by police. Eight individuals suffered injuries ranging from minor pain to fractures. The driver, identified as 26-year-old Rebekah DeShields of Narberth, PA, was taken into custody. PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Philadelphia Police Department has reported several significant incidents that occurred on Sunday, January 26, 2025, during the NFC Championship celebrations. In total, 31 citations were issued for Disorderly Conduct or Failure to Disperse, with 30 adults and one juvenile cited. Four assaults on police officers were reported, two of which resulted in arrests. Additionally, there was one stabbing, two shootings, one vandalism incident, and one report of a vehicle striking multiple pedestrians across the city. Early Monday morning, at approximately 4:11 AM, officers responded to the Philadelphia District Attorney's office at 3 South Penn Square for a report of vandalism.
