All New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) facilities, including agencies, road test sites, and inspection stations, will be closed Monday, January 20, 2025, in observance of the state holiday. All facilities will be open for regular business the rest of the week, including on Saturday, January 18. The Commission’s website at NJMVC.gov remains open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. New Jerseyans in need of motor vehicle services should always visit the website first to access over 25 online services, book appointments for in-person services, and find answers to common NJMVC customer questions. TRENTON – Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin and the Division of Criminal Justice (DCJ) today announced charges against 25 people and four companies for their alleged roles in a multimillion-dollar scheme that used stolen credit card information to fraudulently purchase tens of thousands of gallons of diesel fuel and then resell it to trucking companies and other fuel providers. As alleged, the enterprise operated in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, using credit card “skimmers” that stole financial information from credit and debit cards to create “cloned” cards that were used to make fraudulent fuel purchases. Various vehicles – some having been modified with auxiliary tanks to illegally transport fraudulently purchased diesel fuel – were loaded up with the stolen fuel and delivered it to customers, earning the enterprise illicit profits of $3.4 million during the time period of the investigation. “These defendants allegedly developed a sophisticated system...

South Jersey Gas, a subsidiary of SJI, today announced the kick-off of its annual First Responders Grant Program. Grants will be awarded to provide critical support for operations conducted by first responder departments. The First Responders Grant Program supports the critical safety training and lifesaving efforts conducted by local fire, police and EMS first responders. These grants are used by first responders to support necessary purchases including combustible gas detectors, turn out gear, fire hoses, medical supplies and other equipment. All paid or volunteer fire, emergency medical services and police departments serving at least one of the municipalities in the South Jersey Gas service area are eligible to apply. GLASSBORO, NJ - Taz Cantey scored a career-high 31 points, Khalif Meares scored 22 and Brycen Williams tallied a career-high 20 as Rowan defeated #25 Stockton (11-4; 6-2) in a fast-paced NJAC men's basketball contest. EPA Finalizes Cleanup Plan for Welsbach & General Gas Mantle Superfund Site (Camden Radiation) at Gloucester Marine Terminal in New Jersey The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has finalized changes that add measures to its cleanup plan to address radiological contamination at the former Welsbach Facility at the Welsbach & General Gas Mantle (Camden Radiation) Superfund Site. The former Welsbach Facility is located within the footprint of the Gloucester Marine Terminal in Gloucester City and Camden, New Jersey.
