Philadelphia PD Crime Report

The following information is preliminary and subject to change, with updates provided as they become available: All incidents occurred on January 13, 2025. In the 19th District, a shooting occurred at approximately 7:30 PM on the highway near 61xx Vine Street. An 18-year-old male was shot multiple times throughout his body. Police transported the victim to Lankenau Hospital, where he was placed in critical condition. The scene remains secured, with no weapons recovered and no arrests made at this time. In the 15th District, a stabbing occurred at approximately 6:57 PM inside the front lobby of an apartment building located at 46xx Leiper Street. A 54-year-old male was stabbed multiple times throughout his body. The victim was transported to Temple Hospital by police, where he was placed in critical condition. John James Sprowl, 78, of Barrington

Peacefully on January 11, 2025, at home in Barrington, NJ. He was 78 years old. Beloved husband of 49 years to Kathy (nee Esposito). Loving father of Michelle (Bob) Woyshner, Nicole Fisher, Steven Sprowl (Denise Henry) and Megan (Joe) Fleming. Dear PopPop of Alexandra (Erich), Meredith, Madison, Ava, Olivia, Addison and Luke and great granddaughter, Maddalena. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Grace; stepmother, Meta; twin brother, William and step siblings, Howard, Billy and Judy. John was a retired United States veteran after 27 years of service in the Navy, Army National Guard and Air National Guard. Jimmy Lee Bounds, 92, of Voorhees

On January 1, 2025, at the age of 92 Of Voorhees. NJ. Formerly of Camden, NJ. Son of the late James A. and Ida Bounds (nee Jones). In addition to his parents, James is predeceased by his sister, Jeane Williams. Survived by his sister Kathryne Langford as well as his fellow members of the Bright Memorial Disciples of Christ Church in Camden, NJ where James served as Chairman of Trustees, Deacon Board, Usher Board among other auxiliaries at Bright Memorial. Affectionately known as Jimmy Lee or Lee Boy, he was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 10, 1932. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Southwest Detectives Division is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing juvenile, Jeremiah Broach. Jeremiah, a 14-year-old male, was last seen on January 13, 2025, at approximately 1:26 PM, leaving Boys Latin School located at 5501 Cedar Avenue. He resides in the 1600 block of South Ithan Street and has previously been reported missing, having been located in Bucks County on that occasion. Jeremiah is described as 6’0” tall and weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue blazer with the Boys Latin School emblem embroidered on it, tan khaki pants, and black shoes.
