Coast Guard, partners assist injured woman aboard small passenger vessel

HONOLULU – The Coast Guard, partners assist injured woman aboard small passenger vessel off the coast of Maui, Thursday. Sector Honolulu watchstanders received a notification at 2:39 p.m. Thursday from crew members aboard the small passenger vessel Malolo, that a 68-year-old woman had sustained a shoulder injury while snorkeling and requested assistance transporting her to shore. Watchstanders coordinated the launch of a Station Maui 45-ft Response Boat-medium boatcrew with emergency medical technicians (EMT) assigned to American Medical Response in Maui, to rendezvous with the Malolo crew and assess the situation. The boatcrew transferred the EMT’s to the Malolo, where they remained onboard to provide care to the woman while transiting back to Maalaea harbor, Maui. The boatcrew escorted the Malolo to Maalaea harbor where the woman was transferred to emergency medical services and is reportedly in stable condition. Camden County Public Works Crews Prepare For Winter Weather

(Lindenwold, NJ) – The region is bracing for a winter storm that is set to begin Monday morning and the Camden County’s Department of Public Works (DPW) is working to prepare the county’s 1,200 lane miles of road ahead of time. “This storm is set to blanket our area in a few inches of snow, so we have our crews preparing all of our equipment and keeping up with the forecast to ensure that they are ready to clear snow and sleet as it begins falling,” Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the DPW. “Our salt trucks loaded up, the plows are ready to go, and our tree removal equipment is in working order to clear any debris that may result from this weather.” A winter storm warning is in effect from 1 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6 to 1 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7. An infectious disease doctor shares advice on how to avoid this highly contagious virus December 18, 2024 – New York health officials are investigating stomach bugs sweeping Long Island and New York State, including the highly contagious norovirus. Each year, about 2,500 norovirus outbreaks are reported in the United States. Norovirus outbreaks are most common from November to April. Dr. Azfar Chak, Chief of Infectious Diseases at Montefiore Nyack Hospital, offers expert advice on how to avoid this highly contagious virus that causes gastroenteritis (inflammation of the stomach and intestines). Norovirus symptoms include nausea; vomiting, especially in children; diarrhea; abdominal pain or cramping; mild fever (not always present); headache; muscle aches; and fatigue. Investing in South Jersey in 2024

Rep. Donald Norcross presented $850,000 in Community Project Funding (CPF) to the Borough of Merchantville to upgrade pedestrian and bike path infrastructure. In 2024, we secured $308 million in total federal funding for South Jersey, including $61 million for education and $54 million for healthcare and housing. My office also helped recover $7.7 million in funds for constituents and responded to over 50,000 inquiries.
