MANAHAWKIN, NJ – Rowan head field hockey coach Michelle Andre and staff have been honored as the NFHCA Region IV Coaching Staff of the Year, sharing the award with Marywood University. It marks the third time that Rowan has won the award which is selected by a majority vote of the coaches’ regional colleagues.
Andre and assistant coaches Kristiina Castagnola, Erin Small, Danielle Altersitz and Garnell Peters, guided the Profs to their fourth consecutive NJAC Championship, while the team also clinched its fourth straight conference regular-season title with a 6-0 league mark. Rowan’s coaches were named the 2024 NJAC Coaching Staff of the Year.
Although Rowan started out the year with a 4-7 record while playing seven games against Top 25 teams, the Profs turned it around in the second half of the season with an 11-game winning streak. Rowan won its final eight regular-season games, captured the two in the NJAC Championship and defeated #16 Ursinus in the NCAA First Round before ending the season with a loss to #3 Tufts in the NCAA Second Round. The 22nd-ranked Profs ended the year with a 15-8 record.
Andre and staff have guided Rowan to six straight NCAA Championship appearances.
