Popular Titles To Play Through Xbox Game Pass This Winter

Back in June 2017, Microsoft Gaming launched Game Pass as part of Xbox, and since then, its game library has been growing richer every year. No matter if you're a PC or Xbox enthusiast, there are over 500 high-quality games you can enjoy based on your preferences. In this article, we’ll focus on console gamers. Let’s dive into some of the pros of having a subscription and check out the best games you can play this winter.

More Games, More Perks, More Fun

For a relatively low monthly price, you can get access to hundreds of games, both old and new ones. New titles are usually added every month, and you'll have access to all of them from the very first day of your membership. With the Ultimate subscription, you can get free perks, including in-game add-ons, consumables, and partner offers.

Which Subscription Matches Your Playstyle?

There are a few different finely tailored subscriptions, ideal for each type of gamer and their preferences. Find the one that suits you the best:

  1. Xbox Game Pass Core, the most basic of all, is the upgrade of Xbox Live Gold. It includes access to online console multiplayer and a carefully chosen catalog of over 40 high-quality games. It’s also easily affordable, costing only $9.99 per month.
  2. Xbox Game Pass Standard gives you the same perks as Core but also a significantly bigger game library for $14.99, which is only $5 per month more than Game Pass Core.
  3. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is the ultimate (pun intended!) boss among subscriptions. It contains all Game Pass benefits, including hundreds of high-quality games on console, PC, and cloud. Not to mention that new games are added all the time — you just have to tune into their updates. You can get all of this for $19.99 a month.

What Games You Can Enjoy With Xbox Game Pass This Year?

Whether you are more into solo parties or multiplayer fun, there is something for everybody. We’ve chosen our favorites:

South Park: The Fractured But Whole — “An Outrageous RPG Adventure’’

Thanks to Ubisoft, South Park lovers can enjoy the sequel to the well-known “South Park: The Stick of Truth” from 2014. The Fractured But Whole's narrative follows the New Kid, who has recently moved to South Park. The player controls the New Kid on the way to explore the fictional Colorado town, interacting with well-known characters and accessing new areas.

This is the first South Park game developed by Ubisoft. When it was released in October 2017, it was the fourth-best-selling game across all available platforms.

Red Dead Redemption 2

“Red Dead Redemption 2” is an immersive open-world game that leads you straight into the Wild West. Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang live the outlaw life: robbing, fighting, surviving. The game is rich with amazing attention to detail, from the scenery to the gritty, no-nonsense characters you meet along the way. If you’re feeling lucky, the game lets you hit up some old-school gambling — games such as slots, poker, and blackjack. It’s not exactly like spinning modern slots, but sitting at dusty saloon tables brings that risky vibe that makes you feel like a true gunslinger hustling for every dollar.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 — “Forced To Go Rogue, Hunted from Within”

If you don’t want to pay $69.99 plus tax for this game, you should definitely consider subscribing to Xbox Game Pass, as this game is coming on day one, which means you don't need extra cash to play it. This big name has just arrived on October 25th, fresh and ready to be explored.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops 6” takes the series back to the Gulf War in 1991, offering a fresh historical setting. It introduces a new movement system called omnidirectional movement, which allows players to dive and shoot in all directions, shaking up combat dynamics.

Is the Xbox Game Pass Worth Your Money?

Well, there is no simple answer. Whether you're a casual or a frequent gamer, it all comes down to your play style and how much time you dedicate to gaming. If you game regularly, the Game Pass offers tremendous value. On the other hand, if you only play a couple of games a year and only specific titles, it might be more economical to buy those games directly instead of committing to a subscription.

One thing is certain, though — there is no better way to spend the incoming winter season than with a console in your hands, immersing yourself in the most popular games. It’s cozier inside anyway, so why not make it entertaining too?
