NORMAN F. HILL, JR., 76, FORMERLY OF GLOUCESTER CITY

HILLretouchedNorman F. Hill Jr., “Bud” as known by friends and family, age 76 formerly of Gloucester City, NJ passed away on the morning of December 27, 2024. Born in Woodbury, NJ to the late Norman F. Hill Sr. and Alice O. (nee Wolchek, he graduated from Gloucester City High School Class of 1967. Following many years of employment alongside his father at the NJ Zinc Company, Norman sought a new career working as a security officer. During a period spanning more than two decades, Bud worked for several guard service companies, his final position was with Securitas Security Services. In addition to being an accomplished security officer Bud enjoyed playing chess. By all accounts He was an accomplished competitive chess player and long-standing member of the US Chess Federation. Bud’s hobbies included collecting both academy award films and rock and roll records. Lastly, Norman was an avid Denver Broncos Fan, loved horses. and trips & vacations to New York City.
 
He is survived by his brother, Robert V. Hill Sr. & his wife Doris; two nephews, Robert V. Hill Jr. & his wife Kristy and Sean Hill & his wife Wendy; his niece, Tammy Gallo & her husband Andy; and great nieces & nephews, Stephen, Shyanne, Jay, Gregory, Alyson, David & his wife Che, Lexie, and Chase.
 
Relatives & friends may visit from 10 am to 11 am on Friday, January 3rd at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Interment will be private at New St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bellmawr, NJ in the future. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
