(Trenton) – I-295, Route 42 and I-76 are scheduled to have overnight lane closures this week to install shielding under the beams that were recently installed for the new Browning Road Bridge as the Direct Connection project advances in Bellmawr, Camden County. The lane closures will vary each night depending on the section of the bridge they being worked on.

Monday, December 9

Beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, Monday, December 9 until 5 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, December 10, the I-295 southbound ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo's Curve, will be closed and detoured. The right lane on I-295 southbound also will be closed just after Exit 28/Route 168, and the left lane on I-76 eastbound from Exit 1B to just past the Browning Road Bridge is scheduled to be closed beginning at 9 p.m. tonight. All motorists traveling on I-295 southbound will be directed to stay left onto Exit 26. The following detour will be in place:

I-295 southbound to Route 42 southbound/I-295 southbound Detour:

• Motorists traveling on I-295 southbound to Route 42 southbound will be directed to exit left at Exit 26/I-76 westbound
• Take I-76 westbound to Exit 2/I-676 northbound
• Take I-676 northbound to Exit 1/Collings Avenue
• Turn right onto Collings Avenue
• Turn left onto I-676 southbound, which becomes I-76 eastbound
• Take I-76 eastbound to Exit 1A/I-295 southbound

In addition, beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, Monday, December 9 until 5 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, December 10, the I-295 northbound new Exit 27A/old Exit 26 (left exit) ramp, which becomes the left lane of I-76 westbound, is scheduled to be closed and detoured. The following detour will be in place:

 I-295 northbound Exit 27A to I-76 westbound Detour:

• Motorists traveling on I-295 northbound wishing to take Exit 27A to I-76 westbound will be directed to continue on I-295 northbound
• Take the left Exit 27B (old Exit 27) ramp to I-76 westbound

Tuesday, December 10

Beginning at 10 p.m. Tuesday, December 10 until 5 a.m. Wednesday, December 11, the I-295 northbound new Exit 27A/old Exit 26 (left exit) ramp, which becomes the left lane of I-76 westbound, is scheduled to be closed and detoured. The following detour will be in place:

I-295 northbound Exit 27A to I-76 westbound Detour:

• Motorists traveling on I-295 northbound wishing to take Exit 27A to I-76 westbound will be directed to continue on I-295 northbound
• Take the left Exit 27B (old Exit 27) ramp to I-76 westbound

In addition, the two left lanes on I-76 eastbound from Exit 1B to just past the Browning Road Bridge are scheduled to be closed at the same time. Two lanes will be maintained, and the I-76 eastbound Exit 1A to I-295 southbound will remain open.

 Wednesday, December 11

Beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, December 11 until 5 a.m. Thursday, December 12, the I-295 northbound new Exit 27A/old Exit 26 (left exit) ramp, which becomes the left lane of I-76 westbound, is scheduled to be closed and detoured. In addition, from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. the next day, the left lane on Route 42 northbound is scheduled to be closed before Exit 14B/Benigo Boulevard. The following detour will be in place:

I-295 northbound Exit 27A to I-76 westbound Detour:

• Motorists traveling on I-295 northbound wishing to take Exit 27A to I-76 westbound will be directed to continue on I-295 northbound
• Take the left Exit 27B (old Exit 27) ramp to I-76 westbound

Thursday, December 12

Beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday, December 12 until 5 a.m. Friday, December 13, the Route 42 northbound Exit 1B to I-295 northbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured. The following detour will be in place:

Route 42 northbound Exit 1B ramp to I-295 northbound Detour:

• Motorists traveling on Route 42 northbound wishing to take Exit 1B to I-295 northbound will be directed to continue on Route 42 northbound to I-76 westbound  

• Take I-76 westbound to Exit 2/I-676 northbound
• Take I-676 northbound to Exit 1/Collings Avenue
• Turn right onto Collings Avenue
• Turn left onto I-676 southbound, which becomes I-76 eastbound
• Take I-76 eastbound to Exit 1B/I-295 northbound

In addition, the right lane on Route 42 northbound, which become I-76 westbound, is scheduled to be closed after Exit 14B/Benigo Boulevard and the right lane on I-295 northbound is also scheduled to be closed just after Exit 27A at the same times. At least one lane will be maintained overnight on both I-295 northbound and on Route 42 northbound.
