Matthew Schade of Haddon Heights Recognized for Academic Achievement at The University of Scranton

SCRANTON, PA (12/13/2024)-- Matthew F. Schade of Haddon Heights was among The University of Scranton students who were presented with Frank O'Hara medals in recognition  • Award Recipient: Matthew F. Schade of Haddon Heights.

 • Award: Frank O’Hara medals.

 • Reason for Award: Highest grade-point averages in the first-, second-, and third-year in the College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, and the Leahy College of Health Sciences for the 2023-24 academic year.

 For having the highest grade-point averages in their first--, second, and third in the College of Arts and Sciences, the Kania School of Management, and the Leahy College of Health Sciences for the 2023-24 academic year. The awards, named in honor of the late Frank O'Hara who served the University for 53 years in various administrative positions, were presented at a ceremony held in December on campus.

Schade received the O'Hara Award for academic achievement in his junior year at the College of Arts and Sciences. A member of the University's Magis Honors Program in STEM, he is currently in his senior year at Scranton, majoring in mathematical sciences. He is a recipient of the University's full-tuition Presidential Scholarship. A Dean's List student at Scranton, he also serves as a resident assistant and has been involved with intramural sports programs offered on campus. In the summer of 2024, he was an actuarial intern at Guy Carpenter.
