William E. Cleary Sr. | CNBNews
CHEER-A heartfelt shout-out to everyone elected to their local governing body or school board on November 5. While CNBNews may disagree with some of your policies, we genuinely appreciate your efforts to make a difference. And to those who ran but did not win, thank you also for your involvement.
JEER-Electric bikes pose dangers to both pedestrians and riders. Some riders weave in and out of traffic, believing they have the right to do so. We've observed individuals riding electric scooters on US Route 130, and there have been instances where Class 3 bike riders have been hit by cars and sustained injuries. There are also concerns about young children riding them on sidewalks and busy streets without helmets. It is reported that Trenton is working on laws to regulate these vehicles, but why has it taken so long? Why did lawmakers allow them to be sold to the public without proper regulation? In New Jersey, there are two classifications for low-speed electric bicycles:
Class 1: These bicycles are equipped with a motor that offers assistance exclusively when the rider is pedaling. The motor disengages once the electric bicycle reaches a speed of 20 mph.
Class 2: These bicycles are equipped with a motor that is activated by a throttle. The motor disengages once the electric bicycle reaches a speed of 20 mph.
Both Class 1 and Class 2 electric bicycles are governed by the same regulations as traditional bicycles. This means that they are subject to the same road rules and regulations.
Class 3: These bicycles are defined as motorized bicycles. A motorized bicycle is not subject to the same rules of the road as traditional bicycles in New Jersey. (READ MORE)
In September, a woman on an electric motor scooter was killed in Philadelphia when an SUV hit her. There is no requirement for operators of these scooters to have insurance. The scooters and bikes make no noise, putting pedestrians in danger. Supposedly, NJ legislators have a bill that would regulate these vehicles, but it hasn't gotten out of committee.
JEER-President Biden was repeatedly questioned about the possibility of pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, and he firmly and consistently responded with a denial. His assurances left little room for doubt, as he seemed resolute in his stance. Yet, a few weeks later, he granted Hunter a pardon in a surprising turn of events. This sudden reversal raises an important question: is it any wonder that the public harbors distrust toward the political elites in Washington, D.C.? It reminds us of Bush Sr., running for office he says "Read my lips, no new taxes!" Once elected, our taxes increased.
CHEER-Congratulations to President-elect Donald J. Trump on his victory on November 5, 2024, which marked a historic moment as he became the 47th president of the United States. This achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of countless supporters and volunteers who passionately campaigned to make this win possible. Their efforts have been instrumental in shaping the future of our nation.
CHEER--Congratulations to the Winslow Township High School Football Team for winning the 2024 Group IV State Championship! You have made us proud! signed Winslow Township residents.
JEER-During a recent visit to a nearby PNC Bank to cash a personal check, we experienced a frustrating situation. After waiting in line for 30 minutes, the teller says the drivers license used for identification was outdated. The personal check we presented couldn't be cashed. Although a renewal license was ordered it hadn't arrived. The second teller echoed this sentiment, stating he couldn't recognize me. In today's world, bank tellers are here today and gone tomorrow. That is another reason they don't become familiar with their customers. The photo on the license clearly showed my identity, and the check was drawn on PNC Bank itself. We requested to speak with the manager, but he and the head teller were unavailable.
While I appreciate PNC's commitment to security, in this instance, the customer should have been given the benefit of the doubt instead of being treated like a bank robber.

Maria Station Cafe menu above, Monmouth Street and the Railroad,
Gloucester City, NJ ..
CHEER- Recently, as we explored Gloucester City, we noticed several new businesses are opening. A colorful Mexican restaurant has set up shop in the historic Train Station building at the intersection of Monmouth Street and the railroad tracks, serving mouthwatering cuisine to the area. Just a short distance away, another Mexican eatery has emerged across from the Post Office, 112 South Broadway, adding to the city's culinary diversity. Moreover, the former Hoagie Heaven sub shop has been transformed into yet another enticing Mexican restaurant at the corner of Broadway and Hunter Street.
In addition to these culinary changes, we were surprised that Cold Springs School is now advertising registration for Spanish-speaking children, reflecting the growing cultural diversity in our community. If this trend continues, Gloucester City might shift from its plans for an Irish Village to creating a vibrant Mexican Village. Just saying!
JEER--According to Newsweek, United States taxpayers have spent $100 billion to house, feed, and clothe illegal migrants in 2024. The same news source stated that New Jersey taxpayers had spent between $3,920,584,853 and $5,270,571.029 billion over the past four years of the Murphy administration on the 428,000 undocumented immigrants living in New Jersey.
We are not against immigration, but we do oppose people entering our country illegally and receiving more benefits than our veterans and senior citizens who have lived in this country all of their lives. We have witnessed in person American citizens/veterans sleeping in tents on the sidewalk at the same time illegal immigrants were receiving free rooms at an upscale hotel in Phoenix, Arizona. In New York City, schools were closed to shelter illegal immigrants. One of the requirements for being an American citizen is for the applicant to speak English. The fact that we have Spanish-speaking radio and television stations and other media stations for foreign languages is wrong.
COME OVER TO THE DARK SIDE MAYOR ADAMS!--New York City Mayor Eric Adams appears open to switching parties to become a Republican, as he declined to rule out a future change in political allegiances during a pair of interviews that came as he has increasingly warmed to President-elect Donald Trump.
JEER--FOR OVER A YEAR, the broken utility pole stands neglected at Broadway and George Street, slowly deteriorating under the weight of time, abandoned by PSE&G. Beneath the pole, a disheartening scene unfolds: scattered trash, fragments of concrete, and a sizable mound of dirt accumulate day after day, creating an eyesore in the neighborhood. It begs the question—why hasn’t this situation been addressed? If this utility pole were situated in a wealthier community like Haddonfield, it would likely have been repaired within 24 hours. This prolonged inaction is a disservice to our community, reflecting poorly on both PSE&G and the Gloucester City Housing Office, the mayor, and council members for allowing such conditions to endure for so long. Is it any wonder why some people who live in Gloucester City have no community pride?
