PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating the tragic shooting death of 7-year-old Mia Andujar, which occurred on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 2:27 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting inside a residence on the 3800 block of I Street. Upon arrival, they discovered young Mia Andujar with a gunshot wound to the face. She was immediately transported to St. Christopher’s Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased at 2:39 p.m.

 

A firearm was recovered at the scene, which was promptly secured by responding officers. Following further investigation, 24-year-old Alan Nguyen was arrested and charged with Involuntary Manslaughter, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Recklessly Endangering Another Person (REAP).

 

The investigation is ongoing.
