Michael J. Nolan, 61, of Tacoma, and Gloucster City; GCHS and Rowan U Alumnus

Tacoma, Washington – Formerly of Gloucester City, NJ.- On November 17, 2024. Age 61. Loving father of Justin M. Nolan (Donna – Mother). Devoted step-father of Rebecca Alvord. Beloved Son of the late John F. Nolan, Sr. and Kathryn Mary Nolan (nee Bennett). In the loving care of his devoted siblings: Jo Ann (Bill) Lenover, Pat (Larry) Eggert, John (Leslie) Nolan, Jr., Kate (Jimmy) Rusk, Joseph (Kim) Nolan and the late Bernice Nolan. Cherished uncle to 4 nieces, 5 nephews, 7 great-nieces, 9 great-nephews and many cousins. Dear nephew of Theresa (late Thomas) Nolan and Ruth (late Mike) Nolan.

Michael was born in Woodbury, NJ and raised in Gloucester City. He attended St. Mary’s Grammar School in Gloucester City from 1st grade to 8th grade and graduated in 1977. Michael received his Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation in St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Gloucester City. He was a graduate of Gloucester Catholic High School in 1981. Upon graduation, from Glassboro State (Rowan) in 1985, Michael started working in his dad’s fundraising business. This led to opportunities to continue in the fundraising business in Maryland and eventually in Tacoma, Washington. 

Michael was a loving and devoted father. He was a friend of everyone and his closest friends to this day started with him at St. Mary’s Grammar School and continued to Gloucester Catholic High School. Michael had a strong bond with his family especially the Bennett’s, Nolan’s, Sampson’s and Rafferty’s aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend Michael’s visitation on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 9:15 am to 10:45 am at Saint Mary’s R.C. Church: 426 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am in church. Interment with his late parents and sister, Bernice in New Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
