Commissioners, Garden State Wine Growers Association to host New Jersey Wine Month Celebration

On Tuesday, the Board of Commissioners and the Garden State Wine Growers Association will host the New Jersey Wine Month Celebration at the Camden County Boathouse. Formerly New Jersey Wine Week, the now month-long celebration runs from Nov. 1 to Nov. 30 and highlights the wine growers, vineyards, and wineries across the Garden State.

The event will include wine tasting, exciting announcements and will honor local wineries including Amalthea Cellars Farm Winery, Saddlehill Winery, Sharrott Winery, Tomasello Winery, White Horse Winery and William Heritage Winery.

“The New Jersey wine industry is booming and 2024 was an incredibly successful year,” said Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. “Tuesday’s event will celebrate all the wonderful progress recently made and will get us ready to accomplish even more in the new year when it comes to wine.

Camden County and the South Jersey region are steadily making a name for themselves in the international wine industry. This past fall, a fourth crop of chambourcin grapes from the Commissioners Lakeland Vineyard was produced and delivered to Saddlehill Winery. The county’s vineyard sits on a little over an acre of land and this year’s harvest has yielded nearly 7,000 pounds of grapes.
