UnnamedIn the loving care of her son and daughter, Jean passed peacefully at home on November 1, 2024, at the age of 78. (nee Sooy) Predeceased by her loving and devoted husband of 49 years, Frank J. Muratore, Jr. Survived by her son; Frank J. Muratore, III and her daughter, Veronica Muratore; grandchildren, Ashley Salvatori, Dennis T. Brinn (Danielle) and Mark Simmons (Emily Crane); great grandsons, Mark Simmons Jr., Anthony Simmons, Torian Hart, Jaxson Simmons and Miles Brinn. One of six children to late Norman and Marie Sooy, Jean is survived by her brother, Norman F. Sooy Jr. and her sister, Elaine Sooy Goodman; predeceased by sister Patricia Sooy Anthony and brothers, David Sooy and Ronald Sooy.

Jean was born and raised in the Cramer Hill section of Camden. She was a longtime resident of Williamstown. Along with her husband Frank and their family, they spent nearly twenty years caring for, training and racing thoroughbreds out of their farm on Herbert Blvd in Monroe Twp, while Jean enrolled in college as a young mom of two. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing, Jean had a long and rewarding career as a registered nurse for Kennedy Hospital in Stratford, NJ. Jean loved spending time with her family more than anything. Holidays were always important to her. She was an amazing cook, inspired most by her ‘favorite mother-in-law’ Edith Muratore. Traveling with Frank to Florida, Bermuda, the Caribbean Islands and multiple trips to Italy were amongst the best times of her life. Times spent with her two sisters and three brothers were also treasured moments in Jean’s life. Family always came first with Jean and all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren were her most special gifts that brought her joy. She always saw the best in everyone and loved unconditionally.

At Jean’s request, burial will be private in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Williamstown. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at a private memorial.
