An AMBER Alert has been issued by the Haywood County Sheriff's Office for two small children who were reported taken Monday night, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.

Twelve-year-old Alazay Shelby Rose is described as 5 feet tall, weighing 100 pounds, with black hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.

Deputies are also looking for Kinley Maelena Stepp, a 3-year-old girl with blond hair and blue eyes who is described as 3 feet tall and weighs 45 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans.

Their suspected abductor is 46-year-old Jacob Grant Aaron Stepp. He is described 6 feet tall, weighing 200 pounds with brown hair and green eyes with tattoos on both shoulders.

Deputies say the children were taken from Ben Medford Drive in Waynesville just before 11:30 p.m., and they could be in the area of Cherokee.

Stepp may be driving a 2016 white Dodge Challenger with black racing stripes.

The vehicle is said to have a fictitious tag reading KMC5951.
