TRENTON — The Attorney General’s Office of Public Integrity and Accountability today identified the decedent and the officer involved in a fatal shooting that occurred on November 3, 2024 in the Westmont section of Haddon Township, Camden County, New Jersey. The civilian who died during the encounter has been identified as Keith Edelin, 46, of Pennsauken, New Jersey. On Thursday, 11/21/2024 at approximately 1:21 am, officers were dispatched to the area of the Old Black Horse Pike, in the Hilltop section of Gloucester Township for report of a male, wearing dark colored clothing, attempting to burglarize a vehicle. GTPD received additional information that the same subject burglarized more vehicles during the investigation. The suspect attempted to burglarize a total of five vehicles, successfully making entry into four unlocked vehicles where the suspect was able to steal various items.
