#12 Rowan Men's Soccer Clinches NJAC Regular-Season Crown with 4-0 Win at TCNJ

DownloadEWING, NJ - Freshman Joey Kurak and junior Johnny Troiano accounted for all of the scoring to lead #12 Rowan to a 4-0 win over TCNJ, as the Profs clinched the NJAC men's soccer regular-season title, finishing unbeaten (7-0-2) in conference play. Rowan (10-4-5) will be the top seed in the conference championship and will host a semifinal game on November 5th.
Kurak scored his first at 38:05, with an unassisted giving Rowan a 1-0 lead, that would eventually prove to be his second game-winning goal of the season.
He added the next goal with just 2.4 seconds remaining in the first half. Troiano took a shot from 25 yards away that was tipped by TCNJ keeper Colin Rentner and hit the crossbar. Kurak was unmarked right in front of the net, collected the rebound and put it in for this third goal of the year.
Troiano scored twice in the second half, with the first assisted by Kurak at 74:47 and then recorded his conference-leading 15th goal of the year with 10 minutes to play.
Dylan Aportela made four saves and recorded his seventh consecutive shutout, as the senior hasn't allowed a goal since October 9th.
The Profs will await their opponent in the NJAC Semifinals and host the game on Tuesday, November 5. The conference championship is set for Friday, November 8.
