SEPTA and TWU Local 234 to Continue Negotiations; No Strike at Midnight PHILADELPHIA (November 7, 2024)—SEPTA and TWU Local 234 will continue negotiations on a new contract tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 8. In the meantime, City Transit Division employees will not strike when their current contract expires at midnight, so all SEPTA services will continue to operate on normal schedules. SEPTA is committed to engaging in good-faith negotiations at the bargaining table, with the goal of reaching an agreement that is fair to our hard-working employees and to the customers and taxpayers who fund SEPTA. NOVEMBER 7TH: FIVE PEOPLE SHOT, POLICE SEEK WITNESSES In the 25th District, there was a shooting victim who arrived at 3401 N Broad St, Temple Hospital, around 12:04 a.m. A 43-year-old male sustained gunshot wounds to his right ear and left hand. James is survived by his children, James E. Schaeffer, Jr., Barbara A. Wilson, and Joseph Schaeffer. James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later worked as a die cutter with Magnetic Metals in Camden, NJ. James was longtime member of the American Legion Post #135 in Gloucester City, where he had served as Senior Vice Commander.
