PHILADELPHIA – It might be a wacky number of parcels, but this weed won’t be getting lit in London any time soon after Customs and Border Protection officers seized a combined 170 pounds of marijuana at a warehouse in Delaware County, Pa., on Monday, November 4, 2024 While examining export parcels at an international shipping service facility, CBP officers collected 35 parcels that contained marijuana. Police Officer Enrique Martinez was shot and killed while making a traffic stop at the 8000 block of South Ingleside Avenue at 8:00 p.m. When Officer Martinez and another officer approached the stopped vehicle, they were met with rapid gunfire by an occupant in the vehicle. Officer Martinez was struck multiple times. One officer returned fire. The driver fled on foot after striking another officer with his car. In the 39th District, November 5, a shooting occurred on the highway at 3500 N 15th St at 11:16 AM. A 32-year-old male was shot twice in the right shoulder, once in the back, and once in the buttocks. He was transported by police to Temple Hospital, where he was placed in stable condition. The scene was held, but no arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered. This incident remains under active investigation.
