Afternoon Fire Displaces Resident 11-3-2024 On Sunday, November 3, 2024 at approximately 3:38pm the Gloucester Township Police Department were dispatched to 4 Edinburgh Road in the Blackwood section of Gloucester Township for a structure fire. Arriving officers found heavy smoke and flames coming from the residence. The resident was not home at the time of the fire, and no residents were injured as a result of the fire. Gloucester Township Police Media Release Between 6:51pm on Friday 11/01/24 and 3:19am on Saturday 11/02/24, Gloucester Township Police Officers responded to five separate motor vehicle crashes involving drivers that were suspected to be under the influence of an intoxicating liquor or a controlled dangerous substance. The Route 44 Drawbridge over Mantua Creek between Paulsboro and West Deptford in Gloucester County is scheduled to be closed for several months starting on Monday for preventive maintenance. Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, November 4, Route 44 is scheduled to be closed and detoured in both directions between Mantua Grove Road in West Deptford and North Commerce Street in Paulsboro.
