CHEER/JEER(you decide)—Recently, a man who owns many pit-bull-type dogs at his home on EAST Thompson Avenue in the Riverview Heights section of the city was bitten numerous times as he crossed the street by one of his animals. His two dogs were allegedly trying to reach a woman walking by on the sidewalk. The two dogs knocked him to the ground. One of his dogs bit him several times on his arm.  Once standing, he beat the dog that bit him, over and over said a nearby resident who witnessed the event. His animals have attacked several people in the past. One of his dogs allegedly bit a neighborhood canine in its neck, resulting in that dog dying. Police say they cannot issue a summons to the dog owner unless they receive a complaint. Watching these pit-like dogs pull the owner down the street is laughable. Some neighbors say he has four dogs, while others say he has eight. The city ordinance allows three dogs per household. It is undeniable the individual cannot control his canines.  Why he walks two at a time is a mystery.

JEER- Before the public session of the Gloucester City Council meeting or caucus meeting, Mayor Baile cautions residents that individuals wishing to complain about a city employee could face legal action. This warning has seemingly deterred community members from coming forward with complaints. Throughout our years of reporting on council meetings, no previous administrations in the 60s, 70s,80s, or 90s have issued such a warning. The community must recognize that this mayor and council members have compromised their freedom of speech.  First, they tried to silence the local media by filing false charges of theft and trespassing against the editor of CNBNews, and now they are silencing the residents who elected them to office.

CHEER—The Annual St. Nicholas of Tolentine Authentic Italian Festival, a beloved tradition from the early 1900s, will occur on Sunday, October 6th, from 12 noon to 8:00 pm on the 1700 block of South 9th Street in South Philadelphia. The festival starts with a religious procession through the neighborhood featuring the Statues of Saints and their followers. This festival, a tradition at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church for over 100 years, was established in 1912 by Italian immigrants. The current-day festival began in 1987 on the parish’s 75th Anniversary and has been held annually on the first Sunday of October. It is free and open to the public. Rev. Nick Martorano is the pastor of the church.

JEER-Over 20,000 Haitians were dropped off in the community of Springfield, Ohio, by the BIDEN-HARRIS Administration. The illegal Haitians have taken over the city. When President Trump mentioned the issue during his debate with Kamala Harris, the report was labeled as disinformation.  The Progressive media and Left-wing talk show commentators were quick to pounce on Trump, labeling him a racist for his remark. But, what they are not talking about is the financial burden that 20,000 illegal immigrants have put on the residents in the community of Springfield, Ohio. Besides dealing with higher property and school taxes because of the “Haitian invasion,” the residents have also seen an increase in crime. How many people in South Jersey would welcome 20,000 illegal immigrants into their hometown? Would any local government leader volunteer to accept thousands of illegals into their town? If so raise your hand.

CHEER—The Camden County Recovery Community gathered at the Camden County Boathouse for an Appreciation Banquet to celebrate the strength, resilience, and spirit of participants in the R.E.A.L. Sports programs. With 100 RSVPs from various sober living houses, the event created a warm and supportive atmosphere, showcasing the bonds forged through shared experiences. Each participant was honored with a sweatshirt and a certificate of participation, acknowledging their commitment to their recovery journey.

JEER- Does anyone know why the Gloucester City street sweeper rides around the city, supposedly cleaning the streets without water? The next time it goes by in your house, take notice of the dust and dirt it slings out in your neighborhood. A working sweeper shoots out water. Why don’t our sweepers? Most recently, the taxpayers of this City purchased a new sweeper that cost nearly $500,000.

CHEER—The New Jersey State Transportation Committee has ratified a bill to prohibit the modification of mufflers to amplify noise and the installation of louder mufflers. Violators could face fines of up to $500 and imprisonment for up to 30 days. Businesses selling amplified mufflers would also be penalized.

JEER—A Broadway resident of Gloucester City is upset about people using public trash cans on Broadway for household garbage, leaving no room for legitimate use. This has led to bad smells and attracted vermin. They wonder if this is due to the decline of owner-inhabited properties being replaced with renters who may not care as much. By the way, it isn’t bad enough that rental properties out-number private home ownership; the city planning board is considering permitting the construction of 15 more apartments on Burlington Street.

CHEER--Gloucester City's Fall Festival is set for Saturday, October 12 at Proprietor's Park, King Street from 1 to 6 PM. Beer Garden, Music, Food Trucks, and more.
