Set in LOVE Park (1500 JFK Blvd.), City Hall’s Courtyard, and the North Broad sections, this year's open-air German Christmas Market will run from November 28 through December 24, 2024, with a special Preview Weekend scheduled for November 23 and 24. For the 17th season, Christmas Village will showcase more than 120 vendors offering a curated selection of handmade treasures, artisanal goods, and mouth-watering treats. Visitors can expect to find everything from cozy holiday decor to unique gifts, perfect for stocking stuffers or something special to place under the tree. Guests will also be enchanted by thousands of twinkling lights, as European market lights that will not only illuminate Love Park but will also make their debut at the events in the City Hall Courtyard and North Broad sections. Other new surprises will include the market's first-ever vegan booth and delightful new flavors of Glühwein. Visitors are also invited to follow the smell of hot chocolate, Swiss raclette cheese, and other European delicacies to Philadelphia’s largest holiday attraction! The festivities also include captivating live performances, children’s activities, and beloved rides such as the double-decker Christmas Village Carousel, the majestic Ferris Wheel, and the Kids Train presented by SEPTA. Shoppers can explore a wide selection of high-quality international and local goods, perfect for holiday gift-giving. A variety of handcrafted beverages will be available, including Glühwein (mulled wine), spiked hot beverages featuring local Boardroom Spirits, and non-alcoholic offerings like hot chocolate and apple cider. Christmas Village in Philadelphia, presented by Bank of America, will commence in 2024 with a special Preview Weekend, on Saturday, November 23 and Sunday, November 24, 2024. Get ready for holiday sips, sights, and shopping. Meet the season’s vendors and experience some early holiday cheer while enjoying Helmut’s popular strudels. Try out the mouthwatering flavors of our new vegan booth, featuring irresistible plant-based brats and crispy, golden blooming onions! Each bite is a celebration of taste and a perfect treat. After the preview, Christmas Village presented by Bank of America will officially open for the season every day of the week starting on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024.

This holiday season, Christmas Village invites visitors to find the perfect presents for everyone on their list. Over 120 local and international vendors will be showcasing their lovingly crafted goods in charming wooden cottages nestled around Philadelphia's iconic LOVE Park, City Hall’s Courtyard, and the North Broad area

Additionally 40 local vendors set up at Dilworth Park as part of the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market, featuring a curated selection of local merchants from the tri-state area. This section will feature the new white wooden booths introduced last year that shine brightly from across the street, adding a touch of charm and elegance to the market.

With more than 160 vendors combined, shoppers will have a wonderful selection of handcrafted ornaments, toys, apparel, jewelry, decorations, home goods, and gourmet treats. It’s the perfect opportunity to bypass the malls and embrace the warmth of local, small-business shopping right in the heart of Center City.

As visitors wander through the market, they can follow the delightful scent of freshly baked strudel and crisp apple cider. The diverse menu features an array of European delicacies, including savory German Bratwurst and Schnitzel served on a roll (Brötchen). For the first time ever, the market will also host a fully vegan booth, offering delicious options like vegan bratwurst and a crispy blooming onion, ensuring that everyone can indulge in seasonal flavors.

At the LOVE Park German Grill, home to the authentic German charcoal swivel grill, visitors can enjoy a front-row view as sausages sizzle to perfection over the open flames. The sight, sound, and aroma of this traditional cooking method add an extra layer of authenticity to the holiday atmosphere. Food lovers will find comfort in Käsespätzle, Germany’s take on mac’n’cheese, with soft cheese egg noodles cooked in a cast-iron pan and topped with crunchy onions. Fresh draft beers, including the exclusive Christmas Village Kolsch, or Bock made by Brewery Techne and Mainstay Brewing, are sure to be crowd pleasers. Belgian Fries are also a must-try, paired perfectly with a mug of hot German Glühwein (spiced mulled wine) crafted by Pennsylvania’s own Mazza Wines or a boozy hot chocolate featuring local Boardroom Spirits. Non-alcoholic options are available for those who prefer a warm festive beverage.

This year, North Broad will transform into a magical winter wonderland, becoming a hidden gem specifically designed for kids and families, with a wide array of entertainment options and delightful surprises that are set to be a highlight of the holiday season. Guests can share their Christmas wishes at the cherished Make-a-Wish wall, partake in signature Spirits Tasting Events, and enjoy live music on weekday evenings and throughout the weekends. * The original Christkind from Nuremberg, Germany will be back to open the market with her traditional prologue on Sunday, December 1.

* Christmas Village at City Hall will feature newly designed and updated wooden booths this year, bringing a fresh and cohesive look that complements the beloved aesthetics of LOVE Park. The enhanced design will create a seamless and visually stunning experience as visitors explore the market across both locations, enhancing the festive atmosphere even further.

* Christmas Village in Philadelphia is once again partnering with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for the second annual 'Festival of Trees' fundraiser at the LOVE Park Welcome Center. This year’s event promises to be even more magical, with beautifully decorated trees and holiday cheer, all in support of CHOP's incredible mission.

* A new flavor of Glühwein (mulled wine) will make its debut at Christmas Village this year, crafted by Pennsylvania’s own Mazza Wines. Glühwein enthusiasts can look forward to savoring a fresh twist on the classic mulled wine recipe, featuring warm notes of apple with a subtle spice. This exciting new flavor adds a unique touch to the beloved tradition, offering a delightful treat for both new and seasoned fans of this holiday favorite. * Vegan food alert: This year, the market introduces its first-ever fully vegan booth, offering mouthwatering treats like vegan bratwurst and a crispy blooming onion. Whether you're vegan or just curious, there's something delicious waiting for everyone.

* Back by popular demand, spirits tastings, presented by Boardroom Spirits return to Christmas Village every Thursday this season (except Thanksgiving). Guests will have the opportunity to sample a curated selection of festive spirits, crafted to complement the holiday atmosphere. * Attention collectors: The beloved Christmas Village boot mug is back this season in a brand-new color! Almrausch, all dressed in traditional attire. * The most precious little visitors won't want to leave with all the family attractions including North Broad’s illuminated Ferris Wheel or picking a favorite animal on the market’s double-decker Carousel. There is something for everyone! It's “all aboard” at the market’s very own Christmas Village Kids Train presented by SEPTA. Not into rides? Guests can unwind and savor the festive atmosphere at the cozy seating area on North Broad, which offers the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

* Wedding Wednesdays at Christmas Village offer couples the chance to tie the knot in a festive, romantic setting at LOVE Park during the holiday season.
