More than 600 Pennsylvanians Will Hit the Pavement and Trails for Lung Health
Thursday, October 24, 2024
WHAT: Established in 1977, the Radnor Run is a cherished tradition for local runners and community alike. This year, the event is hosted in partnership with Penn Medicine and more than 600 Pennsylvanians will lace up for the iconic 47th annual race this weekend with a fundraising goal of $110,000. Participants will complete a timed and certified 5-mile race on a challenging course through the beautiful backroads of Wayne, PA; or a 1-Mile Run in which all finishers receive a medal.
The event also includes an untimed 2-Mile Trail Walk for adults and youths of all ages on the scenic and stroller/wheelchair accessible Radnor Trail (many participants will run the 5- or 1-Mile race and then join friends and family on the Trail Walk). Registrants can also opt to participate virtually in their own neighborhoods.
Over the past five years, the Radnor Run has made significant strides in promoting lung health, raising an impressive $477,224. With community support, organizers hope to add another $110,000 to this total during this weekend’s event, continuing the tradition of making a meaningful impact in defeating lung disease while providing a competitive environment for dedicated runners and an inclusive and fun atmosphere for all.
