As reported by the New York Times, an unnamed source revealed that dock workers have been presented with a substantial 62% raise over the next six years. However, the workers’ union is advocating for an extension of their current contract until Jan. 15 as they seek to address additional concerns. The union has expressed valid apprehensions about the potential impact of automation on job security for workers.
