DOT Commissioner tours White Horse Pike

On Friday, county, local leaders, and law enforcement will meet with state DOT Commissioner, Francis O’Connor, to talk about safety along the White Horse Pike corridor through Collingswood. The group will get a firsthand look at the challenges for pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists in this heavily traveled corridor where 24 accidents have occurred since 2019. Since then, almost 30% of those accidents involved a pedestrian or bicyclist.

“As the prosecutor outlined last spring, the White Horse Pike has become a dangerous roadway for pedestrians and our accident levels are too high in this area,” Cappelli said. “Making sure we have everyone at the table working together on the challenges for residents – whether it’s crosswalks, sidewalks, lighting or enforcement – we can deliver safer options for our collective community.”
