Deceitful Gloucester County Democrats

Imagine what County Democrats would get away with without Republicans on the Board watching them

GUEST OPINION

MULLICA HILL – Running for re-election, Gloucester County Commissioners Nick DeSilvio and Chris Konawel today challenged Gloucester County Democrats to stop cherry-picking quotes in an effort to deceive Gloucester County voters.

“Regardless of how one feels about abortion, it’s an issue that County Commissioners have zero control over. It’s shameful that county Democrats are using it in a commissioner campaign.” Gloucester County Commissioner Nick DeSilvio said, “It’s absolutely deceitful that County Democrats would choose to ignore the fact that in the same article they cite in a mailer it was written, ‘DeSilvio said in a phone interview that he does believe abortion is at times medically necessary, and that he thinks it should be legal in cases of rape or incest.’”

DeSilvio added, “I believe voters in this county are tired of the Democrats and their deceit.”

Gloucester County Commissioner Chris Konawel explained, “Gloucester County Democrats are the same group who tried to hide the death of an arson investigation dog by burying her in a backyard and they tried to hide the news of a road-raging county official pulling a gun on another driver. It’s no wonder they want to talk about issues county commissioners have no control over.”

“Gloucester County Democrats don’t want voters to know they’re using $10,400 they received from Parker McCay to attack us.” Konawel said, “They don’t want voters to know Phil Norcross, the managing shareholder and CEO of the law firm, was recently charged in a 13-count indictment along with George Norcross and others.

“Our opponents should, at the very least, give that money to a charity that supports homeless pets.”

“Hiding quotes from voters is deceitfulness.” DeSilvio said, “And it’s just plain wrong to attempt to hide the death of a dog, literally by burying it, try to hide a road-raging county official pulling a gun and taking money from someone under indictment. Imagine what they would get away with without us on the Board to watch them.”
