On October 22, the Board of Commissioners was joined Congressman Donald Norcross and Mayor Ted Brennan to present $850,000 in Community Project Funding to the Borough of Merchantville for upgrades to pedestrian and bike path infrastructure.
CPF grants provide investment in a wide variety of projects such as housing, homelessness prevention, public facilities, parks, and other services. Congressman Norcross recently secured 14 CPF awards, total $13.5 million, for projects throughout the region.
“Congressman Norcross is always fighting to make Camden County and the South Jersey region better places to live, work and visit,” Commissioner Deputy Director Ed McDonnell said. “This improvement project is extremely exciting as we know that quality green spaces create an immensely positive impact on our communities. We are happy for the Borough of Merchantville to be receiving this funding and we cannot wait to see the project once it is completed.”
The upgrades will include new lighting, resurfacing, crosswalks, and ADA ramps for seniors at the senior housing center nearby to use.
