Philadelphia, PA (Oct.25. 2024)— The Philadelphia Police Department is actively investigating a series of incidents that involve large groups of vehicles engaging in illegal street racing, drifting, and other reckless activities across the city. Beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, and ending at 4:33 a.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024, officers responded to multiple locations where crowds ranging from 50 to over 200 vehicles had gathered. On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at approximately 12:03 PM, the Gloucester Township Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles on College Drive at the intersection of Cherrywood Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered two vehicles in the roadway, both with significant damage, and two injured occupants.
