Virginia B. Murray, 95, long-time Audubon resident, passed away September 8, 2024 after living a life filled with the love of family and friends.
She was the widow of Alfred S. Murray, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage prior to his death in 2014. She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Alfred and Margaret Murray of Audubon, Dana and Maurice Ball of Haddon Township, Charles and Kasey Murray of Audubon; six grandchildren: Anne Murray, Grace Murray, Lindsey Ball, Chad Ball, Erin Murray, and Alexa Murray; her brother-in-law Brig. Gen. Douglas Murray USAF (Ret.) of Colorado Springs, CO; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters.
Virginia "Ginny" was born in Easton, PA on May 3, 1929, the daughter of Hilma and Charles Butler. She graduated from Burlington NJ High School in 1946 and from Wheaton College in Norton, MA in 1950. Her work life included a few years in the offices of RCA in Camden prior to her marriage and, later on in her life, seventeen years as secretary to the principal of Audubon High School.
Ginny was a member of Logan Memorial Presbyterian Church for 65 years where she has served as a Ruling Elder. She also served on the Board of Trustees of the Free Public Library of Audubon for many years.
Spending time with family and friends brought Ginny her greatest pleasure. Special memories included annual vacations in Ocean City, travel to all 50 states and to many foreign countries including a trip to the Holy Land, ski trips to many resorts in the United States and Switzerland, and many years of attending Eagles games.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday evening, September 12, 2024, 6 PM to 8 PM and Friday, September 13, 2024, 9:30 AM to 11 AM at Logan Memorial Presbyterian Church, 18 W. Merchant St., Audubon, NJ 08106. Funeral Service will follow Friday at 11 AM. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
