PHILADELPHIA, PA (September 13, 2024)--The following information is preliminary and subject to change; updates will be provided as they become available.
At 7:46 PM, a fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Howland Street on the highway. A motorcycle traveling westbound on Adams Avenue collided with a silver Ford Crown Victoria, which was turning northbound onto Howland Street from the eastbound lane of Adams Avenue.
The motorcycle operator, a 26-year-old white male, was transported by Medic 29 to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at 8:15 PM.
The scene remains secured, with the Crash Investigation Division (CID) present. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on location.
IN OTHER MATTERS,
Southwest Detecives are investigating a stabbing that occurred on the unit block of S. 46th Street. A 54-year-old male was found with seven stab wounds to his back and side. He was transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was placed in stable condition.
At this time, no weapon has been recovered, no arrests have been made, and no specific crime scene has been located. The investigation is ongoing and being handled by Southwest Detectives.
