CAMDEN CITY, NJ (September 22, 2024)--On September 22, 2024, The Gothamist published a graphic illustrating how George Norcross, his brother Philip, former Camden City Mayor Dana Redd, and three others allegedly used their political influence to unlawfully acquire property and development rights along the Camden City waterfront. New Jersey State Prosecutors claim that George Norcross initiated the scheme in 2012, allegedly orchestrating it by strategically placing his allies in leadership positions in various organizations to benefit himself. The indictment alleges that Norcross rewarded his closest associates with lucrative positions as he expanded his control over Camden's development. This resulted in Norcross reportedly earning tens of millions of dollars through these actions.
