With the opening of thousands of cannabis stores in small towns across New Jersey and in other states, local and state governments are concerned about the increasing use of cannabis and hallucinogenic drugs. According to the press release from the NIH’s National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) there has been a rise in the number of people using those substances. On Sunday, September 1, NJ.com released a story that provided more information about the alleged drunk driver who hit brothers Johnny and Mathew Gaudreau with his vehicle. According to the article, the driver, Sean Higgins, 43, is a major in the New Jersey National Guard and is employed by the non-profit substance abuse company, Gaudenzia, headquartered in Pennsylvania.
