Samuel J. Costanzo passed peacefully on August 25, 2024, at the age of 95. Of Gloucester City. Loving and devoted husband of 55 years to the late Rose Marie Costanzo (nee Overnack). Loving father of John Costanzo (Angela Cella) and Lisa Costanzo. Cherished Pop of Mike Pyffer, Jr. and Samantha Rose Pyffer. Predeceased by his siblings, Sam is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews Ruthie, Rita, Frank and Diane and his dearest friends, Jamie Megee, Dayl and Linda Baile, Ed Anyzek and his family at Ferry Fence.
Sam proudly served our country in the U.S. Army in Japan following World War II. He worked many years as a truck driver and enjoyed the 20 + years at Ferry Fence in Gloucester City. Sam was a longtime member of the Gloucester City Lions Club and a faithful, devoted parishioner of St. Mary’s Church.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday morning, September 5th from 9:30 to 11:15 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 AM in the church. Interment with U.S. military honors will follow at New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
