DOG DAY OF SUMMER

Pet-friendly vendors, activities, adoptions, and more will entertain Manayunk’s four-legged friends and their owners. Manayunk's Dog Day of Summer is back on Saturday, August 17 from 11:00am to 4:00pm. The day, celebrating the neighborhood’s ever growing canine community, will bring a variety of pet-friendly vendors, adoptions, treats, activities, and more all along Main Street Manayunk. Dog Day of Summer is an open no-charge community event. It is not a street closed event.

Throughout the day, dogs, big and small, can test their strength as they weave their way through cones, hurdles, and doggie seesaws at the Puppy Park & Agility Course on Cotton Street. Also on Cotton Street will be Dan’s Toonz Caricatures who will be sketching portraits of dogs and dog parents throughout the day along with the Peanut Butter Puppy Paint Station where dogs will get to channel their inner artist with their very own pet-friendly craft. Owners will be able to take home the memories at the Dog Day Photo Booth at Canal View Park (4418 Main Street), and can expect treats and pup-cups will be flowing and plentiful.

“We take pride in the fact that Manayunk has such a growing and active canine community, and each August, we like to celebrate that fact,” said Caitlin Marsilii, Manayunk Development Corporation’s Events Coordinator. “This event not only brings a day full of fun for dogs and dog parents, but it shines light on local shelters, pet-centric organizations, and small businesses.”
