JEER—CNBNews, I wanted to bring to your attention some concerns about the situation on Thompson Ave. There is a house where the owner is turning the garage into an apartment without obtaining the necessary permits. The person connected electricity to the garage by using an extension cord from the house to the garage and buried the cord in the ground. For water, the man connected a garden hose from the cellar, ran it to the garage, and buried the hose in the ground.  Both the electrical and water hookups seem unsafe to me. The property remains poorly maintained, with trash scattered around, an overgrown lawn, and Christmas decorations left out since last December.  ~Signed WHERE IS THE HOUSING OFFICE?

CHEER New Jersey American Water will install approximately 3,000 feet of new water main in Cherry Hill this month. The company will install the new 8-inch ductile iron main along Park Boulevard from Grove Street to Jefferson Avenue. The project also includes installing meter pits at the curb area along the pipeline route where none exist. Additionally, New Jersey American Water will be contacting customers to arrange an appointment to relocate existing meters from inside the property to the new meter pit.  This $600,000 investment will continue to advance water service reliability and increase water flows for household consumption and fire protection in this community. This improvement is part of New Jersey American Water’s multimillion-dollar initiative to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure across the state. Is Gloucester City part of that renewal? If so, why don't we know about it? ~Signed CNBNews

JEERWe live in a community of 2 ½ sq. miles with a decreasing population of 11,400 people. Most citizens don’t know the mayor’s name or who their council representative is.  They only knock on your door when they want you to put a campaign sign on your lawn! Over the past 50 years, the local democratic dynasty has been in control for 47 years, and you, the residents of this city, have very little to show during that period except for high taxes. To this day no one has seriously challenged them since the Independents back in 1988.This was the first and only time that our taxes were decreased. The democrats spent $10 to every $1.00 to defeat the Independents majority on the council. This year, the local Republican slate will try to bring democracy back in town. This town must stop voting for parties and start voting for change. This November, get off your butts and vote for change. ~SIGNED Bob Bevan

CHEER-So glad summer is nearly over, and Jermaine and Emma will return to school in September. Signed Mom and Dad

JEER- Once again, we are experiencing issues with trash pickup in my Gloucester City neighborhood. Is anyone else facing a similar problem? I reached out to Mayor Baile, but I didn't receive a response from either the mayor or the part-time city administrator. Even though my taxes keep increasing, a basic service like trash pickup has worsened. I complained to Seaside, the trash hauler; it did no good.  I complained to them, but there has been no improvement. When I called Seaside, they didn't show up until the next day. ~Signed, Shawn

CHEER- Thank God, the assassin who tried to kill former president Donald J. Trump wasn't successful. Not only would we have lost the only chance to save our country from Socialism, but there would have been a civil war if the assassin had killed him. Why is it taking so long for that investigation to be completed?  ~Signed Friends of Trump

JEER--The high-speed chase involving a thief who stole a vehicle in Deptford last Saturday ended in Gloucester City after the thief collided with another car that two young children occupied. Those kids were seriously injured. The stolen car the thief was driving slid into a house that was occupied by a family with children. As far as we know, none of those children were hurt, but the house's structure was damaged.  Was it really necessary for the police to speed through the narrow streets of Gloucester City chasing this guy? Did the Deptford Police or Gloucester City Police consider the potential consequences of this chase? The only way it could have ended was a crash. Did the state AG impose limits on high-speed chases for police departments because they were so dangerous? WILL THE AG INVESTIGATE THIS INCIDENT? Watch for lawsuits to be filed against the police departments involved. Pray for those two kids. ~Signed W.E.Cleary Sr. CNBNews Editor

CHEER- The high-speed chase this past Saturday in Deptford and Gloucester City is just another example of why the Gloucester City Police Crime Report needs to be reinstated. If Kathy Cleary from CNBNews hadn't stumbled on the scene, I don't believe residents would have known what occurred. The people in our City have a right to know what crimes are being committed. Good reporting, Kathy. Signed Denise W.

CHEER--In this troubled world, I take great pleasure in the very simple things in life. As I awake on my days off, I wake up before the sun and enjoy a home-brewed cup of coffee, and then I watch as the light begins to show. I look at the clouds, which almost become scarlet just before the sun rises. When I'm fishing and the sun rises above the trees, the water sparkles like diamonds, and I watch all the creatures go about their lives without a care. I wander from Carneys Point through Mullica Hill out to Berlin from farmers market to farmers market to get the freshest and most delicious tastes of New Jersey. When I buy produce in bulk by the basket, I often use what I need and share the rest with friends, family, and those in need. To all those people doing the same thing, I cheer you for showing the heart of America. SIGNED Dan Reader
