HANDOVER, MD (August 9, 2024)(CNBNews)--The New Jersey State Champion representative in the Mid-Atlantic Regionals, Brooklawn American Legion Baseball, suffered an uncharacteristic 20-10 loss to Northeastern Pennsylvania in a weather-delayed game on Thursday night. The loss on Friday morning to Northeastern dropped Post 72 into the losers' bracket. Brooklawn is now holding a 1-1 record in regional play.
Starting pitcher Jackson Smallets struggled from the first pitch, and before being relieved on the mound, he found himself and his teammates down 7-0 with only two outs. Smallets' pitching line was 7 runs, 2 hits, 3 walks, 2 hit batters, and 2 wild pitches.
For the game, Brooklawn allowed 20 runs on 8 errors, 7 walks, and 7 Hit Batters.
Brooklawn next game is against Wilmington, Delaware. Game Time will be announced.
