Unprovoked Assault on Multiple Individuals in the 2200 Market Street Area

PHILADELPHIA- On August 26th, 2024, at approximately 7:15 A.M., a male offender assaulted three elderly individuals, two women and one man, by pushing them to the ground in an unprovoked attack near the 2200 block of Market Street.
Following the initial assault, the offender continued west on Market Street, where he attacked a 22-year-old woman, striking her in the face with a closed fist and knocking her to the ground. He then attempted to steal a bag from a 77-year-old man. When the man resisted, the offender punched him in the mouth.
Responding officers quickly located the suspect and, after a brief foot pursuit, detained him. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Donnell Bruce, was positively identified.
All victims sustained minor injuries. Donnell Bruce has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Simple Assault, Resisting Arrest, and other related offenses.
QUADRUPLE SHOOTING
Shortly after 9 p.m., a quadruple shooting occurred on the 3200 block of G Street. Four adults were shot and transported to Temple Hospital. One victim is in extremely critical condition, while the other three are in stable condition.
Victim #1 23-year-old male was shot twice in the right leg. He was transported to Temple Hospital by police and is in stable condition.
Victim #2 A 20-year-old male was shot once in the left arm. He was taken to Temple Hospital by police and is in stable condition.
Victim #3 40-year-old female was shot once in the right leg. She was transported to Temple Hospital by police and is in stable condition.
Victim #4 A 20-year-old male was shot six times throughout his body. He was transported to Temple Hospital by police and is in extremely critical condition.
The scene is currently secured. No weapons have been recovered, and no arrests have been made.
