BUTLER, PA.  (July 13, 2024)(CNBNews)—What a night! 

By now, everyone around the world knows that former United States President Donald Trump was shot Sunday evening during his rally in Butler, PA. The time was approximately 6:14 PM. As you watch the moments leading up to the assassination attempt you see President Trump turn his head to one side to speak with the people behind him. As he turns towards the front, he reaches up to his ear and then drops to the ground. Many of those in the audience behind him also get down. Some remained standing as if in shock. Within seconds, a team of Secret Service agents appeared on the stage surrounding Trump. As the agents lead him towards a waiting SUV, Trump raises his fist in the air and yells, “Fight! Fight!. The crowd chants USA! USA!. 

Thoughts of the assassination in the 60s of Martin Luther King, Bobby Kennedy, and President Jack Kennedy come to mind. 

Talking among friends a few weeks ago about Trump being found guilty on 34 ridiculous charges in a New York City kangaroo court, someone said the only thing they haven't tried was assassination. 

A number of Republicans are pointing fingers at Biden for Saturday’s shooting, with some citing Biden’s recent statement to donors saying “it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye.”  

The question now on everyone's mind is why was the rooftop on the outer perimeter of the rally where the shot came from left unguarded. That rooftop was just 130 yards from Trump. Minutes before, the suspect was seen dressed in camouflage, walking across an open field carrying a rifle. Others saw him climb up the side of the building and low crawl across the rooftop with the rifle cradled in his arms. One witness, who was standing 50 feet from the shooter’s perch, said he shouted out to the police and the Secret Service agents to the locale of this individual. "They just looked at me," he said. 

After former President Trump was hit, the shooter was taken out by Secret Service snipers. His name wasn’t released, but authorities did say he was a 20-year-old white male from Pennsylvania. 

Trump was treated at a nearby hospital and released. Tonight he is scheduled to head back to his home in Florida. On Monday he will travel to the Republican Convention in Milwaukee. 

Several television commentators said tonight God was watching over Trump and America. "If he hadn't turned his head when he did, the marksman's bullet would have hit his skull and killed him," said Newsmax's Greg Kelly.
