Tuesday, July 02, 2024
CAMDEN CITY, NJ (July 2, 2024)(CNBNews)--After nearly 12 weeks in dry dock at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and several days at the Paulsboro Marine Terminal, the Battleship New Jersey returned to the Camden Waterfront on June 20! Our nation’s most decorated and largest battleship will reopen for tours on Wednesday, July 20. Self-guided tours will be available from 10 am to 4 pm, with guided tours at 12 pm daily, including July 4th.
The Battleship will have her Main Deck and Captain’s and Admiral’s Cabins and Decks open for guests to watch fireworks on July 3. For tickets visit www.battleshipnewjersey.org/purchase.
The Battleship returned home to a celebration on the Pier and Promenade, presented by Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia. The B Street Band rocked the Pier with the music of Bruce Springsteen. Mascots, including the Philly Phanatic, Gritty, Swoop, Franklin and Phang mingled with guests and greeted the Battleship’s return on the Pier. We even introduced our new mascot – the Black Dragon. Games and face painters were set-up landside and were enjoyed by kids. Dietz & Watson and Mission BBQ offered complimentary hot dogs and BBQ sliders, respectively. Thanks to all who made donations for the sandwiches. Food trucks — Traveling Taco, Red’s Food Truck and Mister Softee — were located on the Promenade. Despite the heat, everyone had a great time as we welcomed home the Big J!
Thank you to our friends as Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, who helped make the Return Celebration possible!
