Thursday, June 27, 2024
Surrounded by and in the loving care of her family, Shirley passed peacefully on June 21, 2024, at the age of 87. (nee Muldoon). Of Gloucester City. Loving and devoted wife of 63 years to Eugene E. Glennan. Loving mother of Edward E. Glennan and his wife, Cheryl and Robert M. Glennan and his wife, Susan. Cherished grandmother of Sean, David, Michael and Patrick. Beloved sister of the late Robert Muldoon (surviving Thelma) and the late Patricia Dornich (predeceased by John).
Shirley, a loving wife, mother and grandmother born in Staten Island and raised in Gloucester City, left this world in the loving care of her family. She was the best friend of her future husband for 10 years before her marriage of 63 years to Eugene. Her life was full of love for her husband and truly for her family. Friends were always a part of her loving care as well.
Shirley worked at her mother's luncheonette where circumstance allowed her to meet her future husband. Shirley also worked for the Teamster's Union office in South Jersey. Following her career at the original Subaru headquarters in Pennsauken and eventual retirement from Unisys corporation, Shirley chose to spend quality time with Eugene and her grandchildren. Shirley and Gene were frequent visitors to the Atlantic City Casinos where they were always enjoying day trips together and with friends.
Shirley was a humble, loving, and a warm person to everyone she met and created friendships with so many people. For those who got to know her, indeed they were blessed and were better in life for that friendship. She was always there to smile and give warmth to others. Although an incredible void has been created without her presence here on Earth, she will be forever remembered for the kindness and laughter she shared.
At her request, Interment will be private in Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers to the family, please consider a donation in Shirley’s memory to St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Please memo, Shirley Ann Glennan.
