Philadelphia Police Blotter: Pedestrian Succumbs, Fatal Auto Crash, Shooting

OVERNIGHT INCIDENTS: TUESDAY, JUNE 24 into WEDNESDAY, JUNE 25

 

FATAL PEDESTRIAN CRASH Images-1

A fatal pedestrian crash occurred in the 3rd District at 1000 S. Front Street at 5:58 AM. A male in his 60s sustained severe head trauma after being hit while crossing in front of a shuttle bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic 21 at 6:12 AM. The scene is currently being held, and no arrests have been made. The Crash Investigation Division is investigating this incident.

FATAL AUTO CRASH

In the 39th District, a fatal auto crash happened at North Broad Street and West Hunting Park Avenue on the highway at 1:40 AM. Unit#1 A sedan traveling southbound on Broad Street collided head-on with Unit#2 a blue Toyota RAV 4 traveling northbound. The operator of Unit#2 A 46-year-old Hispanic male was pronounced dead at the scene by Medic 4B at 1:45 AM, and the operator of Unit#1, identified as John Doe, was pronounced dead by Medic 29 at 1:51 AM. The investigation is ongoing with the Crash Investigation Division.

DOUBLE-SHOOTING

A double shooting took place in the 19th District on the unit block of North Peach Street inside a second-floor front bedroom at 11:27 PM. A 40-year-old male was shot once in the neck and is in critical condition at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center after being transported by Medic 26. A 39-year-old female was shot once in the right shoulder and is in stable condition after being transported by police to the same medical center. No arrests have been made, but a firearm was recovered at the scene. The Shooting Investigation Group is currently investigating this incident, the motive is possibly domestic.
