In order to be eligible for Academic All-Area honors, an athlete must be in at least their second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better.

Shannon, who graduated in May with a degree in finance, put together his best season as a Prof, earning the NJAC Pitcher of the Year award and being selected to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 4 First Team. He picked up his second All-Conference honor when he was named to the All-NJAC First Team.

The righthander led the team with an 8-3 record this season and recorded a career-best 69 strikeouts in 90.1 innings pitched. Shannon, who ranked first in the NJAC with a 3-2 mark and 0.89 ERA in league games, threw three complete games and had one shutout.

For his career, Shannon posted a 20-6 record and totaled 141 strikeouts and ranks among Rowan’s Top 10 all-time in games played (52), wins and shutouts (3).

Shannon was previously named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and is a candidate for Academic All-America® honors, which will be announced in July.
