Authorities Investigating Drowning Death of Six-Year-Old Boy at Summer Camp

 

MANSFIELD TOWNSHIP NJ (June 25, 2024)(CNBNews)--Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Mansfield Township Police Chief Eric Campbell announced that a 6-year-old boy drowned yesterday while at Liberty Lakes Day Camp on Florence Columbus Road in Mansfield Township.

The boy was found unresponsive in a swimming pool just before 2 p.m. and was pulled out by a lifeguard. Life-saving measures were attempted by camp staff members. He was transported by ambulance to Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy will be performed today by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.

The investigation is being conducted by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and the Mansfield Township Police Department.

No additional information is expected to be released today.
