On May 20, 2024 Michael Majane was sworn-in as Captain of Police by Lower Township Mayor Frank Sippel.  Captain Majane's mother Dolores and his daughter Aubrey held the bible while his wife Erin pinned his Captain badge.  

Captain Michael Majane started his police career in 2000 as a Class II Officer for the City of Wildwood. He was an employee of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department for 6 months before becoming a Patrolman with the Lower Township Police Department in 2001. 

By 2003, Captain Majane became an instrumental part of the Cape May County Police Academy as an instructor in the following areas:

1.                  Method of Instruction

2.                  Vehicle Operations Instructor

3.                  Physical Conditioning Instructor

4.                  Defensive Tactics Instructor

5.                  Expandable Baton Instructor

6.                  Firearms Instructor

7.                  Patrol Rifle Instructor

8.                  MILO range Instructor 

From 2005 to 2016 he was assigned to the Cape May County SWAT Team, previously the Lower Township SWAT Team. During that time in 2010, he was assigned to the Lower Township Detective Division. While assigned to the Detective Division, he was trained in the following areas:

1.                  Top Gun Narcotics Investigation Class

2.                  Investigative Photography and Video

3.                  Crime Scene and Advanced Crime Scene Investigation

4.                  Advanced Interview and Interrogation

5.                  Internal Affairs Investigations 

Captain Michael Majane became the Detective First Class in 2013. While in detectives, he was the Departments Evidence Custodian. DFC. Majane took over the role of Supervising Firearms Instructor. At that time, he was also certified as a Glock Professional and Colt Defense M-4 Armorer, which he remains at present.

In September 2020, he was promoted to the rank of Patrol Sergeant. By February 2022, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant First Class and shortly thereafter promoted to Lieutenant in June 2023. On May 6, 2024 he was officially promoted to the rank of Captain.

Throughout his ever-changing 24 year career in law enforcement his wife, Erin, has been a constant presence and his strongest supporter. Captain Michael Majane married his wife, Erin Majane, in 2013. The couple welcomed their daughter, Aubrey Majane, in 2015. The family is proud and excited to start this next chapter with the Lower Township Police Department.
