Philadelphia Suspect Arrested in Atlantic City Carrying a Rifle

The Atlantic City Police Department arrested a wanted fugitive with a rifle and additional ammunition.

On April 9, 2024, at 2:31 PM, Officers Matthew Stollenwerk and Robert Thompson responded to the first block of south Kentucky Avenue for a report of an unknown weapon in a bag.  Medical personnel from Exceptional Medical Transport were on scene with Robert Parker who was experiencing a medical emergency.  While preparing Parker for transport, an alert EMT noticed a weapon in Parker’s bag. 

The officers located a loaded rifle with two additional magazines in the bag.  Parker was found to have an active warrant for his arrest from Philadelphia, PA.  He was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, to be treated for a non-life threatening condition.

 

ARRESTED:  Robert Parker, 64, of Philadelphia, PA.

CHARGES:  Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of high capacity magazine, and fugitive from justice.

Parker was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.  The public is reminded that charges are mere allegations, and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
