Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Auto in Gloucester Township

On Saturday, April 20, 2024 at approximately 2:51 AM officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of the Old Black Horse Pike at Landing Rd. for a reported pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Upon officers arrival, the pedestrian was located in the roadway unconscious and suffering from severe head injuries. Despite the efforts of officers and BLS / ALS, the victim succumbed to her injuries. The striking vehicle and driver remained on location. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

The Old Black Horse Pike was closed for several hours during the initial stages of the investigation.

The investigation is being conducted by the Gloucester Township Police Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT). The Gloucester Township Fire Department, as well as Inspira medical services, assisted at the crash scene.

At this time the name of the victim is being withheld pending notifications and further investigation.
