Open to all members of the community, including 7th-grade students from area schools who may receive extra credit for attending, this seminar promises to be an engaging and informative experience. Hosted by the GFWC Woman's Club of Runnemede in collaboration with the Runnemede, Somerdale, and Barrington Green Teams, the seminar aims to provide valuable insights into horticulture, gardening, and environmental sustainability.

Caliope Bledy, Coordinator of Camden County Certified Gardeners, will lead the discussion. As a retired Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and a graduate of the Certified Gardeners program in 2022, Caliope brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. With a passion for gardening spanning five decades and a commitment to promoting native species and pollinator habitats, Caliope is dedicated to fostering environmental stewardship within the community.

The seminar will cover a range of topics, including the distinction between native, non-native, and invasive plants, the importance of pollinators, garden preparation, sun orientation, container gardening, and creating monarch habitats. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an interactive activity focused on planning a Monarch Waystation, fitting into their landscape.

Don't miss this final opportunity to engage with experts and learn practical strategies for enhancing environmental sustainability in your community.
