Dorothy "Dottie" Marie Gorman, age 81, of Newtown, Pa

On April 9, 2024. Age 81. (nee O’Connell) Of Newtown, PA. In the loving care of her brother, Daniel J. O’Connell and sister-in-law Mary in North Carolina. Cherished wife of 49 years to the late John Joseph “Jack” Gorman, Jr. Loving sister of John J. (late Screenshot 2024-04-16 at 23.49.30 Maureen) O’Connell, Jr. Survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dear sister-in-law of Ruth (Mike) DeCarlo and the late Joseph (surviving wife Janet) Gorman.

Dottie was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls. She worked for many years in corporate business for Korn Ferry and Westmoreland Coal both located in Philadelphia, PA. 

Dottie loved to travel, especially with her beloved husband, Jack; her favorite trip was the Alaska cruise.  She loved her cooking shows and trying new recipes.  Dottie loved sinking herself into a good book.  She loved long talks over coffee.  Dottie’s favorite color was navy blue and loved purses and shoes just like her mother. She had a crush on Villanova Basketball head coach, Jay Wright. Dottie secretly knew more about football and basketball than she let on! She loved going down the Jersey Shore, particularly when she was younger and loved riding a bicycle in the morning there, but it had to be a tandem!  

Dottie was kind to strangers and loved her family and friends fiercely. She was a longtime resident of Newtown, PA and a devoted parishioner of St. Andrew R.C. Church in Newtown, PA. Dottie’s joy in her life were her family and friends!

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Saint Andrew R.C. Church: 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment Newtown Cemetery, Newtown PA with her late husband, Jack.
