Charles D. Kenney, fondly known as "Danny," passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Jefferson Hospital in Cherry Hill. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on June 26, 1948. Danny worked tirelessly as a letter carrier for the Oaklyn Post Office for 37 years, where he not only delivered mail but also ensured that the dogs along his route were taken care of on scorching hot days, always carrying treats for his furry friends. Following retirement, Danny worked as a crossing guard for the Haddon Twp. School District
Described as a good person with a heart of gold, Danny's kindness knew no bounds. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and had a deep love for animals. His unwavering faith was an integral part of his life, being a devout Catholic who found comfort and solace in his rosary.
Outside of work, Danny's passion for sports was apparent. From his early days playing football to later enjoying watching various sports, especially football games, he found joy and entertainment in the world of sports.
Danny is preceded in death by his late father, Charles Kenney, and his late mother Anne (nee Deeney) Kenney. He is survived by his close circle of friends who cherished him dearly.
Funeral services under the direction of the Etherington-Creran Funeral Home, 700 Powell Street, Gloucester City. Interment New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
Danny's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him - a compassionate soul whose acts of kindness rippled through his community and beyond. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy of love and compassion lives on in the hearts of those who knew him best.
