Two People Shot to Death in Fairmount Park

PHILADELPHIA, PA (March 2, 2024)(CNBNews)--Officer Tanya Little, spokesperson for the Philadelphia Police Department reported today that on Friday night, at approximately 10:58 pm, officers in the 22nd District responded to a radio call for a "Hospital Case" at 3800 Mount Pleasant Drive in Fairmount Park. Upon arrival, officers were met by medics on-site attending to two victims on the roadside, both of whom suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
The victims have been identified as 49-year-old Thurston Cooper of 15xx Chew Avenue and 38-year-old Krystina Chambers of 5xx Devereaux Avenue.  Philadelphia Fire Department medics pronounced both victims dead at the scene at 11:12 pm.
The motive behind this incident remains unknown at this time. The investigation is currently ongoing, with the Homicide Unit.
